A SAFE BET FOR A GOOD INVESTMENT!

In addition to the original purpose of preventing ice sheets, your company will also save TIME and MONEY with the Roof Safety Air Bag! The investment pays for itself, because the RSAB system provides many economic benefits and reduces your operating costs.

Example calculation Cost savings per year from use of the RSAB
Downtime of approx. 1 hour per day results from repeated removal of ice sheets. This results in 20 "ice days" and vehicle operating costs (including driver) in the amount of approx. €40/hr. €800
Costs from loss of a driver (driver's license revocation / work accident while removing ice sheets) individual
Fines and points due to ice sheets without risk

€60

Fines and points due to ice sheets with risk €75
Penalties in case of damage such as negligent bodily injury or death individual
Insurance costs/insurance policy premium increases due to accidents individual
Fleet costs not paid by insurance individual
Downtime costs due to stopping of the vehicle by the police due to ice sheets individual
Penalty payments to customers because deadlines cannot be met individual
Other economic benefits for your company:
By reducing wind drag of the tarpaulin and preventing extra weight from water/ice, you will achieve fuel savings of approx. 0.2 liters over 100 km (at a diesel price of €1/l and 100,000 km/year). €200
Reduction of water consumption in washing facilities due to drag water (approx. 100l per wash) €20
Customer complaints due to water damage to cargo individual
Costs due to accidents from water roof loads individual
Reduction of tarpaulin wear individual
Reduction of operating costs with the RSAB system €1.155

1. NO ICE DAMAGE COSTS

A frequent headline in the winter reads "Truck loses ice sheets"!

High material damages always result for all of those involved, for which the employer is liable. The RSAB system prevents such insurance and other damages to your own fleet. Your company will no longer be burdened with such costs in the winter.

2. INCREASE IN WORK AND TRAFFIC SAFETY

Because the driver no longer has to climb onto the roof or scaffolding when using the RSAB, accident risk is reduced, resulting in significant improvement to working conditions and occupational safety at your company.

Because ice is preemptively prevented from forming, the driver and the employer are finally able to keep tarpaulin vehicles free of roof loads, without additional expense, and to thereby guarantee operational safety.

Furthermore, the system increases the safety of all road users, improving the image of the transport industry.

3. SAVE ON COSTS AND TIME BY PREVENTING DOWNTIME

How expensive is removing ice sheets from your fleet? Even with scaffolding or de-icing staging, you need at least a half hour to de-ice a semi-trailer. This unplanned downtime and the associated driving time loss puts additional time pressure on drivers and customers.

The related vehicle and personnel costs are enormous, whereby an investment in the RSAB system quickly pays for itself!

4. COST SAVINGS THROUGH FUEL ECONOMY

A trailer roof can hold many hundreds of liters of water! When it freezes in the winter, there are several hundred extra kilos to be transported. When temperatures are constantly below freezing and the ice sheets are frozen to the tarpaulin, the driver may cover many kilometers with the extra load.

Consistent use of an RSAB prevents water masses and ice sheets from forming on the trailer, which has positive effects on fuel consumption.

As a result of the vacuum in the hose, the entire tarpaulin of the trailer is suctioned to the roof bows. This prevents the typical fluttering of the tarpaulin and improves aerodynamics, which in turn reduces fuel consumption.

5. NO DISRUPTIONS OF YOUR LOGISTICS AND WORKFLOW

The colleagues in dispatch did great work on Friday! All vehicle routes have been planned so that customer deadlines will be met.

On Monday morning, the roofs of the trailers are full of sheets of ice. The vehicles aren't moving, drivers become uneasy and the first customer deadlines can no longer be met! In addition, it will be difficult to comply with driving and rest times later on, as a result.

Or your trailers are full of ice at your customers' plant premises, with no option for clearing the roof.

With the RSAB system, you are no longer dependent on the weather. No additional, unscheduled downtime, causing trouble with your customers.

6. RELIEF FOR THE EMPLOYER AND FLEET MANAGER

The workday of an employer in the logistics industry is often the "usual insanity," especially in winter. No matter what happens with the drivers on the road – you are always in the thick of it – even when your drivers are stopped because of ice sheets!

Or it wasn't even your vehicle, but the damaged party just saw a blue trailer lose some ice that flew onto their hood.

Regardless, you still have to spend time dealing with the police and insurance and prove that it wasn't your vehicle at all. In the worst case, it's one person's word against the other's. With the RSAB system, many of our customers have been able to clarify this situation very quickly, avoiding embarrassment for the driver.

This means relief for the employer and fleet management in the area of owner responsibility.

Enjoy some luxury, and a little peace of mind. With the RSAB system, you have one less problem!

7. MORE TIME FOR YOUR DRIVERS

No parking space, traffic jam, driving hours regulations, the customer is calling...and on top of all of that, spending an hour every morning removing ice from the roof?

With the RSAB, the driver keeps the roof free of ice without additional expense! Your drivers will be proud and happy about the reduced workload and the associated convenience.

And in times when it's difficult to find good drivers, it's also a clear argument in favor of choosing your company!

8. ONE LESS REASON FOR THE POLICE TO STOP YOU

And to rob you of valuable time, to cause additional downtime and to issue hefty fees and points!

The police are extremely vigilant for the uninvited roof loads. They know of the danger that lies in wait on truck roofs, and are becoming more and more strict in their monitoring.

9. ADVANTAGES OVER SCAFFOLDING

The location-independent solution provides many advantages. One important argument: "When 10 vehicles leave our yard at the same time every morning, a scaffold is not very helpful. I end up with more traffic jams in the yard in the morning than later on the highway." Without the RSAB, there were always problems.

Many customers have "swapped" their scaffolding or defroster for the roof de-icing system, because they had the following experiences: a lack of willingness by drivers to climb the scaffolding in the early morning at freezing temperatures; high expenses for occupational safety; holes in the tarpaulin from "poking" with pointed objects; the ice often cannot be loosened from the tarpaulin because it is frozen solid; the ice lands in the yard and hinders or endangers other vehicles.

The RSAB system ensures that your vehicles are ice-free! Including long-haul transport, or when your trailers are at your customers.

10. THE RSAB SYSTEM IS ALSO USEFUL IN THE SUMMER

But the system is only for winter, you may say! Why do I need it in the summer? The simple explanation is: water! Water is there year-round, creates more weight and is very frequently the cause for customer complaints.

Just ask our customers who haul paper or cardboard and have less damage form condensation and rainwater as a result of the RSAB system.

Or companies who deliver wood products, which may only have a certain moisture level. A part of the load gets drenched when opening the sliding roof. The moisture is measured upon delivery, and the entire load is not accepted by the customer.

Every tarpaulin gets damaged in places over time and begins to leak, causing water damage to highly valuable cargo. Consistent use of an RSAB prevents water masses from forming on the trailer, avoiding customer complaints as a result.

Furthermore, consistent use of an RSAB has positive effects on fuel consumption, because there is no added weight to carry on top of the tarpaulin.

Another argument in favor of year-round use is that the vacuum in the hose suctions the entire tarpaulin of the trailer to the roof bows.  This prevents the typical fluttering of the tarpaulin and improves aerodynamics, which in turn reduces fuel consumption.
